Self-service and borrowers
Borrowers take, return and extend for themselves. Shelf includes 10, Stockroom 50, Warehouse unlimited. Handovers by editors stay free.
What a borrower is
A borrower is someone who takes things themselves. They scan an item and take it, return it and extend their own loans. They never edit the register. A borrower is either a member with the Borrower role, or a person with Takes things themselves switched on under Self-service on their page.
Seats per plan
- Shelf (free): 10 borrowers
- Stockroom: 50 borrowers
- Warehouse: unlimited
These are always free on every plan: viewers, handovers done by editors, and every person’s My things link. So someone who only receives things at your counter doesn’t need a seat.
Kiosk mode
Put a tablet at the counter or the store door. In Settings → Kiosk, choose Create kiosk link, optionally limited to one folder, and open the link on the tablet. People tap Find your name…, then scan or search for what they’re taking or returning, and set a Bring back by date. The kiosk forgets the person after 90 quiet seconds. Revoke a kiosk link under Active kiosks.
Kiosk PINs
To stop people taking things in someone else’s name, set a PIN: on the person’s page open More actions and choose Set kiosk PIN (4 to 8 digits). PINs are optional, per person.
Approval first
If a folder has Needs approval to borrow switched on, a borrower’s scan offers Ask to borrow instead of Take it, and an editor approves on Today.
