Kits and vans
Bundle what travels together, return it with a check for breakages, make vans places with their own stock, and count a van from the yard.
Build a kit
Under Kits, choose New kit: a name, a Home location, what it’s for, and its members with quantities. Then Create kit. A kit can mix unique items (the camera) and counted stock (two batteries, a pack of cable ties).
Hand over and reserve a kit
On the kit’s page: Hand over, Reserve or Move. Every item still gets its own logbook line. Print the kit’s label from More actions → Print kit label; scanning it puts the whole kit in the basket.
Return a kit
Choose Return. ItemTally asks Anything come back broken? and lets you report a problem per item, then Return all. Counted stock in the kit restocks exactly what that kit took out, never more, so a return can’t invent stock.
Make a van a place
Edit the van’s folder, set its Kind to Vehicle, and tick Stock point if it carries counted stock. It shows as a van everywhere, with its own minimums and load list.
Check a van in the yard
Scan the van’s shelf label and choose Count this place, then scan what you see. Tools you didn’t scan show as not seen. Scanning works in the phone’s browser and needs a connection; counting with no signal comes with the phone apps, which are in testing.
