Count by scanning a shelf

Scan a shelf label to start or join its count, scan what's there, review the differences, post.

Start a count

Scan a shelf label and choose Count this place, or scan it with the scanner in Count mode. If someone’s already counting there, you Join the count instead. From a desk, choose Start a count under Counts and pick One place, One tag or Everything, then Scan as you go or Go down the list.

Count blind

Blind count is on by default: expected numbers stay hidden until review, so people count what’s there.

Scan what you see

Scan each thing. For counted stock, enter how many. Unique items in that place that you don’t scan show as not seen, so you can check whether they’re out with someone or missing. Not-seen lines never change stock on their own.

Review and post

Choose Review count. For each difference: Accept, Recount or Explain with a reason, such as used up, damaged, taken without a record, found somewhere else or miscounted last time. Nothing changes until you choose Post count and confirm. Each correction is a count line in the logbook.

Count on a schedule

Set Count every so many days on a folder. When it’s due, a Count due card appears on Today.
