Every lens signed out, every one signed back.
For in-house video and photo studios, university and corporate AV services, and agency production teams who own their gear and lend it to their own people.

Sound familiar?
Half the kit is out on a shoot or set up in a meeting room right now. “Who’s got the 24-70?” is a group text at 8am, the spare V-mount batteries are in someone's car, and the projector that went to the boardroom for the all-hands never came back to the store. The equipment list is a spreadsheet that's right on the day someone updates it.
Book it, prep it, send it, check it in.
-
Book for the shoot or the event
Reserve the A-cam kit for Thursday's interview shoot. The booking checks body, lenses, monitor and batteries, and names anyone who already has one of them that day.
-
Prep and hand out
Scan the kit label to fill the basket, add the slider and two extra batteries, pick the shooter, take a signature. One receipt, and every piece has its own line in the logbook.
-
Rooms and setups
AV teams deliver to rooms. Move the projector and the conference mic kit to Boardroom for the all-hands. The register shows it's in the boardroom, and moving it back is one scan.
-
Check in and flag
Scan the kit back in. The return check asks what came back damaged, so a bent hot-shoe gets a problem note on that body, with who had it and when.
-
Service and PAT
Lamp hours, sensor cleans and yearly PAT tests are scheduled per item. Today shows what's due, and each service is logged with its cost.
The A-cam kit in one scan.
Scan the kit label and the basket fills with the body, lens, batteries and mic. Anything already booked shows inline before it leaves, and the shooter signs once for the lot.

How it looks in ItemTally.
Folders are the real places in-house av, video and photo teams keep things. Every take, return, count and move becomes a dated line with a name on it, and lines are never edited.

Equipment checkout
A kit and its extras in one basket, a due date and a signature, so a €2,000 lens always has a name and a signature on it.

Not rental software. ItemTally has no quotes, rental invoices, client billing or deposits. If you rent gear to paying customers, Booqable, Rentman or Current RMS are built for that. ItemTally is for teams that own their gear and lend it to their own people. What we will and won't build.
The questions AV teams ask.
Freelancers on our shoots don't have logins.
They don't need them. Hand gear to any name with a due date and a signature. Their receipt has a My things link to see and return what they hold, and a possession check asks them to confirm from their phone.
Our studio has no signal in the basement store.
Scanning in the browser needs a connection today, so use the building Wi-Fi. The phone apps with offline scanning are in testing and not released.
How do I keep track of camera gear?
Give every body, lens and kit bag its own record and QR label, check it out to a named person with a due date, and book it for shoots. Consumables like batteries live in the same register as counted stock.
What about kit bags that go out as one thing?
Make it a kit. The A-cam bag with body, lenses, cards and batteries checks out in one move, and every item still gets its own ledger line, so a missing lens is findable even when the bag came back.
We track bodies and lenses by serial. Does that fit?
Yes. Each unique item has its serial, value, photos and documents, plus its own QR. Scan the serial barcode on the body and it opens the record too.
What does it cost for an in-house team?
Every feature is on every plan. A team of up to five people running the store, lending to up to fifty colleagues who take kit themselves, is €19/mo. Hand-overs done by the team never count, and items are never metered.
