ItemTally vs Asset Panda
Asset Panda is a configurable asset platform with a strong mobile app and dedicated offerings for public sector, education and healthcare. The honest difference is how you buy it. Asset Panda has no public price; you request a quote and get a 7-day trial. ItemTally publishes three flat prices and has a free plan.
Choose Asset Panda if
- You need offline auditing on phones today.
- You want a highly configurable platform with custom forms and workflows, and you're happy to set it up with their team.
- You're a public-sector body that wants a vendor with police, fire and school-district references.
Choose ItemTally if
- You want to know the price before you talk to anyone.
- You want a register that works out of the box, with custody, reservations and stock already modelled.
- You want to start free and grow monthly.
Where Asset Panda is better
Every tool has a reason people pick it. These are Asset Panda's.
-
Offline in the field, today
Asset Panda says its mobile app works without WiFi or cell service and fully supports offline auditing. Ours comes with phone apps that are still in testing.
-
Configurability
Custom collections, forms and actions let Asset Panda model unusual asset types and workflows. ItemTally is deliberately opinionated.
-
Unlimited users
Asset Panda promotes unlimited users with custom roles and permissions, so everyone can have a login.
-
Sector references
Dedicated offerings for local government, public works, fire, police, K-12 and higher education, if that matters to your buyers.
The structural difference
Asset Panda is a platform you configure: collections for each kind of asset, forms for each action, roles for each group. With the right setup it fits almost anything, and the price comes from a conversation, not a page.
ItemTally is a register you can use within the hour. Unique equipment and quantity stock are already modelled, with custody, due dates, signatures, reservations, kits and counts built in. The price is on the page: €0 for 1 editor and 10 borrowers, €19/mo for 5 editors and 50 borrowers, €49/mo for everyone.
The fair question: do you need a platform shaped to unusual assets, offline audits in the field today and a vendor-led rollout? Asset Panda is credible. If your team shares equipment and stock and you’d like to see the price first, try ItemTally free.
The part a price cut can't copy: ItemTally never meters items, on any plan, and that is a signed, dated promise. Read the pledge →

What it costs at real team sizes
Asset Panda doesn't publish prices. Its FAQ describes upgrades by number of assets, and its pricing page is a quote form.
| Team | Asset Panda | ItemTally |
|---|---|---|
| 5 people 500 items | Quote only | €19/mo Stockroom: 5 editors. |
| 15 people 500 items | Quote only | €19/mo Stockroom: 5 editors, 10 borrowers. Warehouse (€49/mo) if all 15 edit. |
| 40 people 500 items | Quote only | €19/mo Stockroom: 5 editors, 35 borrowers. Warehouse (€49/mo) if all 40 edit. |
ItemTally prices exclude VAT and are billed monthly. Items are never metered, and people who only look are free on every plan. Third-party sites quote figures for Asset Panda; we don't repeat them because Asset Panda's own site doesn't.
Switching from Asset Panda takes an afternoon
Nothing is written to your new register until you've seen the preview.
-
Get your records out of Asset Panda as a spreadsheet, one collection at a time, and save each as CSV. If you can't find an export on your plan, ask their support for one.
-
Import the CSV into ItemTally. Map name, serial, location, assigned person and your custom fields. Quantity rows become quantity items when you map their quantity.
-
Preview the dry run. Nothing is written until you confirm. Re-import later and matching rows update instead of duplicating.
-
Keep the labels. Map the barcode column to codes, and existing stickers with those values keep scanning.
Questions about switching from Asset Panda
How much does Asset Panda cost?
Asset Panda doesn't publish prices on its site. You fill in a quote form and get a 7-day trial after.
Does ItemTally work offline like Asset Panda?
Not yet. Offline scanning comes with our native iPhone and Android apps, which are in testing. Today ItemTally scans in the phone's browser with a connection.
Can I customise ItemTally as much as Asset Panda?
Partly. You get unlimited custom fields, folders, tags, kits and units on every plan. You don't get custom forms or workflows; ItemTally's flows are built in.
What happens to my data if I leave ItemTally?
Full CSV export on every plan, any day. ItemTally's own export re-imports cleanly, and that round trip is tested.
