The phone apps, in the stores
Native iPhone and Android apps with offline scanning and counting, and the same flows as the web app: the scan sheet, the basket, self-service and counts by place. They're built and in testing. They're not released yet, so offline doesn't work today; scanning works in your phone's browser with a connection.
The apps will be on every plan, including the free one.
Candidate
Mandatory equipment inspections
Recurring, legally required checks on equipment: thorough examination of lifting equipment (LOLER) and portable appliance testing in the UK, testing of electrical equipment (DGUV V3) in Germany. Due dates, results and evidence, on top of the logbook you already have.
We'll only build this if teams confirm they need it. If you run inspections like these today, tell us how.

- The scan sheet: scan anything and get the one obvious next step
- The basket: many things, one handover, one receipt, one signature
- Self-service with borrower seats: 10 on Shelf, 50 on Stockroom, unlimited on Warehouse
- My things links: see, return and extend with no account
- Today as an inbox, and Out grouped by person
- Counts started by scanning a shelf label, blind by default
- Re-import that updates existing items instead of duplicating them
- Kit returns that restock only what went out
- A practice run with your own phone, and a first run that leads to your own list
- A new design for the site and the app
What we won't build
ItemTally is a register for physical things, not an ERP. We won't add customer invoicing, accounting, sales orders, purchasing or shipping. Plenty of good tools do those, and doing them badly would make this one harder to use.
We also won't meter items, and we won't move something that's free today to a paid plan. That's the pledge.
