How do we track tools across multiple vans?
Each van is a folder flagged as a vehicle, with its own stock and a min/max PAR band per item. The stock board shows every product across every van on one screen - set a minimum for all vans in one click, and read each van's load list (what to put back to reach PAR). 'Load the van' is one recorded transfer (or one kit checkout), the Monday digest says which van is under PAR, and a two-minute offline count from the driver's seat keeps the register honest.
What stops tools walking off site?
Names, not vibes: expensive tools check out to a person with a due date and a thumb signature on the phone. Overdue gear turns amber and nudges are one tap. When someone leaves, their page lists everything on their name - the handback is a checklist, not an argument.
Do we need barcode scanners or special hardware?
No. A phone camera scans QR and barcodes, offline, and it's already in every pocket. Print QR labels on the office printer (Avery sheets) or a Brother roll. A USB scanner gun works too - it types into the search box - but it's an optimisation, not a requirement.
What does it cost for a small crew?
