Scan it. One button. Done.

Point any phone at a label and a sheet rises with what the thing is, where it lives, who has it and one button for the obvious next step. No app to install, no form to fill in.

Free for one editor and ten borrowers, with unlimited items. No card needed.

On the shelf: Take it, with a due date already chosen.

Someone has it: Return, wherever it’s scanned.

Counted stock: take 1, 2 or 5 in one tap.

  • One button, chosen from the item's state
  • Many things, one hand-over
  • Any phone, in the browser

The sheet picks the verb.

Most registers get updated later, at a desk, from memory. ItemTally records it at the shelf, because the right action is already the big button. The modes above the camera keep scanning in one mode until you switch.

Scan
The default. Each scan opens the sheet with the one verb that fits the item's state.
Basket
Scan many things into a tray, then take them or hand them to someone in one go.
Return
Scan each thing as it comes back, with no taps in between. Each one finds its own hand-over.
Move to…
Pick a place, then scan what goes there. Each move is a line in the logbook.
Count
Scan a shelf label to start or join its count, then scan what’s there.
Unknown codes
Create the item with that code, or attach it to one you have, in two taps.

Many things, one go.

A camera bag, a class set of laptops, the van load for a job. Keep scanning and things pile into the basket. Anything that can’t go, because it’s booked or already out, shows inline with a fix before anything is written.

  • One person, one due date, one signature and one receipt for the whole pile.
  • A kit’s label fills the basket with every piece of the kit.
  • A person’s QR card starts a basket that’s already for them.

Works on the phone you have. Any recent iPhone or Android, in the browser, including the shared one in the storeroom. A USB scanner gun works too.

  • QR labels and existing barcodes (EAN, UPC, Code 128) both open the sheet.
  • Pair a phone to the desk by scanning a code on screen, with no password typing.
  • Everything lands in the logbook at once, so the desk sees it as it happens.
  • Offline scanning comes with the native apps, which are in testing.

Questions people ask

Do I need to install an app?

No. Scanning works in the phone's browser today, on any recent iPhone or Android. Open the app's address, tap Scan and allow the camera. Native apps are in testing.

Does it work with no signal?

Not yet. Scanning in the browser needs a connection. Offline scanning comes with the iPhone and Android apps, which are in testing and not released.

What happens when I scan a code ItemTally doesn't know?

You can create an item with that code in two taps, or attach the code to an item you already have. Barcodes already on the packaging work this way.

Can people without an editor seat scan?

Yes. Borrowers take and return things for themselves with a scan, and anyone who scans an item that's out can return it. Editing the register itself needs an editor.

What if two people scan the same shelf at once?

Both scans are kept. Every scan is a line in the logbook, so they add up instead of one overwriting the other.

Can I use a USB scanner gun?

Yes. A scanner gun types the code into the search box or the scan field, and the same sheet opens.

Try it on the shelf you count most.

New workspaces start with a practice run: scan a practice label with your own phone, take it and return it.
