Reminders

People hear the day before and on the due date. Editors hear the day after. You can remind anyone by hand from Out or Today.

Reminders to the person who has it

The person holding an item gets a reminder the day before it’s due and on the due day, after 08:00 in your workspace’s time zone. It’s a plain email with their My things link, where they can say it’s back or extend. Members with the phone app paired can get it as a push notification instead; the phone apps are in testing.

When something’s overdue

The day after a due date, editors get one email listing what’s overdue. Overdue loans also appear on Today with Remind, Return and Extend.

Remind someone by hand

Use Remind on Out or Today. It needs a due date and an email address. To ask someone to confirm everything they hold, use Ask to confirm on their page.

The Monday digest

Every member gets a short email around 07:00 on Monday with the week ahead. Turn it off under Settings → Notifications (Monday digest). Saved reports can be emailed weekly too.

Slack and webhooks

Add a webhook of type Slack under Settings → Webhooks to post a plain sentence when stock runs low, a loan goes overdue or a count is due.

Still stuck? Email [email protected] with what you're trying to do. A person who works on ItemTally answers, usually within a business day.
